Associate Degree

This program provides students with entry-level digital production skills. Students use state of the art computer software and hardware to design professional images for print and electronic publication.

A person working in the digital prepress industry is responsible for the overall look and feel, purpose, budget, and the form of a publication. Skills include the design and prepress for desktop publishing, familiarity with type, color and file preparation, working with digital images, proofing and printing technologies.

Students may qualify for either the Associate in Applied Arts degree (AAAS) or the Associate in Arts (AAS) which most transfer institutions require. Those who wish to earn the Associate in Arts (AAS) degree should be sure to follow the MACRAO requirements and all other communications, humanities, social science and natural science requirements.

Students pursuing this degree should have basic computer and college level reading skills.
