Psychology is the scientific study of the brain, behavior and mental processes. A good foundation in Psychology includes the study of many different areas, including: memory, emotion, motivation, human development, neuroanatomy, intelligence, stress, sexuality, social relationships, psychological disorders and their treatment, and much more. In addition, because Psychology is a scientific discipline, students will develop a core understanding of the scientific method, including research design and critical thinking. The GRCC psychology department offers a wide array of courses to allow you a good exposure to this exciting field. What you learn in these courses can be immediately applied to your own life, and you will also be prepared to transfer to one of many baccalaureate programs in Psychology or other related human service field. Training in psychology is applicable and desirable in many career areas, including the sciences, health care, business, law and public safety.

Contact Counseling & Career Center to meet with an advisor and discuss the program further.
