OT 230 - Fieldwork II Description Fieldwork experience in two different treatment settings supervised by an OTR and/or a COTA. Application of acquired knowledge of Occupational Therapy. Perform duties and treatment identified in the performance objectives at each treatment setting. Two 8-week full time experiences. Students must successfully complete OT 235 in order to successfully complete OT 230. Recommended Skills: Must be CPR certified. 6. Maintain and care for treatment equipment and supplies.

8. Demonstrate professional ethics as identified in the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics.
9. Clearly articulate the Occupational Therapy Philosophy and Role Delineation of the Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistant.
10. Utilize evidence based practice in the OT treatment process.
11. Gather pertinent information from observations, interviews and assessments to develop a treatment plan as directed by the fieldwork supervisor.
12. Plan, select and implement relevant treatment interventions and modify as needed in collaboration with fieldwork supervisor.
13. Effectively communicate verbally/nonverbally and in written form with client, staff and others involved in client treatment.
14. Demonstrate professional behavior at all times which includes: self responsibility, acceptance of feedback, consistent work behaviors, time management, interpersonal skills, cultural competence.
15. Complete the AOTA supervisor’s Feedback form (SEFWE).
16. Successfully complete performance objectives formulated by the fieldwork supervisor within the established timelines. Approved for Online Delivery?: No Course Outline: I. Student to contact assigned supervisor to schedule start time and review performance objectives for each Level II, 8 Week fieldwork placement.
II. Student to successfully complete fieldwork site performance objectives in the time frame specified by the fieldwork supervisor.
III. For each fieldwork experience the student must successfully meet expectationsas listed in the AOTA Performance Evaluation for OTA students.
IV. Complete Supervisor Feedback Form (SEFWellness) for each site.
V. Complete fieldwork Notebook/Journal for each site. The Fieldwork supervisor provides orientation to the site, provides patients for student, and evaluates performance. Instructor plan, coordinates and orients student to fieldwork experience.
