College Level Prerequisites: None Description: CHM 231 is a lab course designed to accompany the lecture course CHM 230. Students are introduced to basic organic and biochemistry laboratory techniques, explore stereochemistry, acids and bases, buffers, reactivity of functional groups, amino acids, proteins, enzymes, carbohydrates, fats, antioxidants and nucleic acids. CHM 231 primarily serves students in nursing and allied health professions requiring the lab portion of an Introductory Organic and Biochemistry course.
