As our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, more and more information is being stored digitally. As a result, the threat of identity and informationtheft is growing. Companies and organizations need talented individuals who can keeptheir company safe from digital theft and other malicious invasions into intellectualproperty. This degree provides the student with an Associates of Arts (AA) Degree inInformation Security, which can be transferred toward a Bachelors degree or higher.
The Information Security Degree prepares individuals to assess the security needs ofcomputer and network systems; recommend safeguard solutions, and manage theimplementation and maintenance of security devices, systems, and procedures. Includesinstruction in computer architecture, programming, and systems analysis; networking;telecommunications; cryptography; security system design; applicable law andregulations; risk assessment and policy analysis; contingency planning; user accessissues; and troubleshooting.
