Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences

The Electronics Engineering Technology program at GRCC prepares students to enter the growing and complex field of electronics technology. Electronics technicians work in manufacturing, industry, business, and medical facilities. They operate various types of electronic equipment, industrial control systems, and computer systems. They also provide technical assistance in designing, constructing, measuring, and analyzing circuits.

Electronics Technology students at GRCC study the theory of electricity and electronics, analog circuits, digital circuits, computer systems, equipment theory and applications, and electronic servicing. Course work includes extensive hands-on activities related to the field of electronics engineering technology.

Students who wish to pursue an associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology need to specialize in specific areas of interest. Students who complete the AAAS program will also have the ability to increase their knowledge base by pursuing additional tracks.

Electronics Technology Track

The Electronics Technology track prepares students for careers in electronic servicing, field engineering technicians, laboratory technicians, production tests, installers and instrument technicians.

Biomedical Electronics Technology Track

The Biomedical Electronics Technology track prepares students for careers in medical industry as biomedical technicians, instrumentation specialist, medical device testing, and biomedical equipment repair.

Computer Electronics Technology Track

The Computer Electronics Technology track prepares students for careers in the electronics industry with an emphasis on computer technology. Students in this track will gain additional knowledge in a variety of computer programming languages, microprocessors controlled systems, embedded devices, computer networking, and computer servicing.

The following course sequences are presented as a guide only. Courses may be taken in any order as long as all requirements (including prerequisites) are met. Students entering this program should meet the college’s minimum entrance requirements in Reading, Mathematics and English.
