GRCC Program:

Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences

This program prepares students to apply technical knowledge and skills to develop working drawings and electronic simulations for architectural and related construction projects. Includes instruction in basic construction, building specification and codes, architectural rendering, computer-aided drafting (CAD), architectural blueprint interpretation and documentation, basic layout for mechanical, electrical and plumbing, and an understanding of building materials.

In order to give its students the most up-to-date training available and to maximize their employment opportunities, the College has incorporated into the Architectural Technology program current technology. This includes training in computeraided design (CAD) and in building information modeling (BIM). These techniques allow technicians to utilize powerful computers to make their work faster, easier and more accurate.

The following scheme is presented as a guide only. Courses may be taken in any order as long as all requirements (including prerequisites) are met.
