This program is intended for students interested in transferring to Grand Valley State University to complete a degree in the Health Fitness Instruction track of the Exercise Science program.  This program focuses on the psychological and sociological principles underpinning exercise science and prepares students to work with individuals and groups in settings such as corporate wellness, community health, fitness clubs, and athletic settings.  This program is designed for students to spend two years at GRCC and then transfer seamlessly to GVSU for two years, where they may graduate with a B.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health Fitness Instruction.

Transfer Notes


Students should review the general education course requirements at Grand Valley State University in order to select the Humanities and General Elective courses that will best meet their needs.

MOV 201 - Students should enroll in this course (at GVSU) in the Spring before their first Fall semester at GVSU.

MOV 304 - Students should either dual enroll and take this course at GVSU while they are attending GRCC or students should take this course during the Spring semester before their first Fall semester at GVSU. 

Students must be formally admitted to the transfer institution and program.  It is recommended that students meet with an advisor to review the program and course schedule prior to completing this articulated program.  Students must complete 30 credit hours of general education courses from the appropriate General Education categories with a grade of “C” or better to qualify for the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA).
