PS 110 - Survey of American Government(3/3) This is an introductory course in American government and politics. Students will learn the theoretical and historical foundation of American government and the basic structure of institutions set forth in the Constitution. Utilizing current events, students will begin to understand the relationship - and power struggle - between the states and the federal government, interest groups and political parties, and citizens. Students will learn the impact that government has on our every-day lives through civil liberties and civil rights issues.
Recommended Skills: Students must be able to read, write and communicate effectively; and maintain research skills (including computer-aided research).
