ADN 120 - Nursing Practice Concepts 2 Credits: 4 Contact Hours: 7 Prerequisites: ADN 110 (B- or Higher) and NUR 115 115 (B- or Higher)

College Level Prerequisites: None Description: This course builds on previously introduced concepts, and introduces additional individual, health & illness, and professional nursing & health care concepts. Individual concepts include culture. Health & illness concepts include fluid & electrolyte balance, thermoregulation, glucose regulation, intracranial regulation, reproduction, sexuality, immunity, inflammation, pain, stress and coping, mood and affect, psychosis, addiction, and interpersonal violence. Professional nursing & health care concepts include professional identity, clinical judgment, health promotion, communication, collaboration, safety and health care policy. Upon completion, students should be able to provide safe nursing care in a simulated/lab setting, incorporating the additional concepts identified in this course. This course includes a lab/clinical component.
