Description: MA 210 is designed to provide preservice teachers with a conceptual framework for elementary mathematics. This is accomplished through the use of appropriate manipulatives in a laboratory setting. Topics include problem solving, fundamental concepts and structures of number systems, study of sets, systems of whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, decimals, number theory and real number systems. This course is designed for those students intending to obtain elementary teaching certification.
