College Level Prerequisites: None Description: This course covers topics in American History from pre-contact through the era of Reconstruction. The course is intended to be a general survey of the social, cultural, economic, and political currents that have shaped early American history. The course presentations pay special attention to the issues of cultural diversity, race and race relations, the growth and development of American History in a global context, warfare, and political evolution. This course attempts to expose students to the agency of the common man.
