Description: EN 101 emphasizes personal narratives and autobiographies to help students find and express their own voices. Assignments include a variety of writing including free-writing, journals, short scripts, personal essays, expanded autobiographies such as oral histories, career-research papers and I-centered research. These writings increase students’ awareness of voice and improve their understanding of how writers adapt language for specific audiences and use various public forms and conventions. Students must earn a C or higher in this course before enrolling in EN 102.
