NDT 120 - EEG Pre-Clinical Preparation Description This course prepares the EEG student for safe participation in clinical education within the neurodiagnostic department. Students will explore and discuss the importance of patient safety, patient assessment, and equipment placement. Students will practice and master various procedures in a scheduled laboratory setting as well as complete online assignments. Lab 1: Objectives
- Read over “Kim’s 10/20 Measurements” (you will get a printed copy in lab)
- Learn how to properly measure and mark a bald mannequin head in lab
- Perform a full set of measurements in lab
- Perform a check off in lab
- Complete nomenclature in lab
- Watch videos prior to lab
Lab 1: Assignments
Participation points will be earned in class.
- 25 points will be awarded from completing the nomenclature in class.
- 25 points will be awarded for having all marks plotted on your mannequin head in class.
There is nothing due prior to lab. Both assignments will be completed collectively in class.

- Perform Check Off 1 on mannequin with hair in lab
- Introduce scrub and paste application
- Perform Check Off 2 on classmate in lab
- Watch Weaver Video prior to lab
- Watch Kim’s Mannequin Head Measurements prior to lab
- MiRIS Form and Verify My Measurements will be reviewed in lab
Lab 2: Assignments
This assignment MUST be completed prior to our mandatory lab (NO EXCEPTIONS). I need to see that you have measured and marked 3 people (not mannequins). You need to submit photos in Canvas. Do not put electrodes on your “patients”. I need to see each mark. You need to use 3 different people. Set your timers and use this assignment as a prep for your check off. For your check off (in lab) you will have 30 minutes to complete a set of measurements.

- Discuss excellent patient care and patient safety
- Discuss how to speak to a patient on their level
- Discuss seizure safety
- Discuss PPE
- Perform check-off on a classmate laying down in lab
