5. Use food labels to evaluate the nutritional values of packaged foods
6. Identify various methods used to calculate body composition, overweight and underweight
7. Discuss the contributing factors to and health risks associated with overweight and underweight
8. Define terms associated with pathologic eating patterns
9. Identify oral/facial signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa and bulemia nervosa
10. Discuss the ethical and legal responsibilities of the dental team in identifying and reporting eating disorders
11. List the functions of the 6 major nutrient groups: carbohydrates, protein, lipids, water, vitamins and minerals
12. Discuss basic digestion and metabolism of foods
13. Identify the nutients associated with major nutritional deficiency diseases
14. Identify the oral manifestations of nutritional deficiencies
15. Evaluate a food diary for satisfaction of the food pyramid recommendations and caries potential
16. Explain the etiology of dental caries and periodontal disease
