Description: This course is the contextual study of music in the Western European canon with emphasis on music of the European Medieval period though the early Baroque repertory of the early 1700’s. The course includes significant repertoire study, score study, listening, and employs various aesthetic and historical theories to foster discussion on art interpretation.
