Description: The jazz ensemble will rehearse and perform repertoire in various styles from various periods in jazz and big band development. Improvisation will be taught and emphasized in performance. The jazz ensemble will perform 1-2 concerts per semester and meets 2 times a week. Grading is based on attendance and punctuality to rehearsals and concerts as well as demonstrated competency of the music being studied.
