College Level Prerequisites: None Description: MA 124 is intended for students majoring in liberal arts or other fields that do not have a specific mathematics requirement. Its purpose is to give students a broad exposure to a variety of real-world applications of mathematics. Topics include voting methods, apportionment, mathematics of finance, number theory, shapes and patterns in geometry, networks and directed graphs, counting methods, probability and statistics. Please check the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) list to see if this course fulfills the Mathematics and Natural Science requirement. Strongly recommended: Grade of C or better in MA 98 or an Elementary Algebra course.
