MA 97 - Basic Mathematics Review and Pre-Algebra Credits: 4 Contact Hours: 4 Prerequisites: Accuplacer math-arithmetic score above 39 and Accuplacer reading score 31 or higher or RD 095 with C- or higher grade

College Level Prerequisites: Description: MA 097 is a one semester review of arithmetic fundamentals and pre-algebra concepts. Topics include the arithmetic of whole numbers, fractions, decimals, order of operations, ratios, proportions, percent, signed numbers, applications of introductory geometry, measurement, statistics, an introduction to polynomial expressions, solving linear equations, linear relationships and square roots. Work is done both with and without a calculator. MA 095 and MA 096 offer the same content over two semesters. Recommended Skills: Reading level of 94 or higher on LOEP or successful completion of ES 123 with C- or higher. Semester(s) offered: All
