College Level Prerequisites: None Description: This course focuses on literacy acquisition theory and practice from 0 to 3rd grade. Literacy development stages, factors that effect reading acquisition, and characteristics of fluent readers are included. The importance of play, schema theory, language development and reading acquisition, and assessment procedures are stressed. 20 hours of tutoring through GRPS are required.
