This certificate curriculum prepares individuals to function competently in the central services department of a healthcare facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, processing of patient care equipment, supplies, and instruments for use in all departments. The program focuses on the principles and practices of decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of medical/surgical supplies. This curriculum prepares the successful completer for the National Certification Exam for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
