Energy Technician Certificate


Academic Plan Code: 972

The Energy Technician Certificate prepares students to apply for high demand lineman and maintenance jobs in the energy industry. Students completing the certificate will have a solid foundation in electrical theory, working with electricity and working safely; and will also receive physical conditioning needed for the demands of these jobs. Students that successfully complete the certificate will receive interviews with area utility companies.

It is recommended that students also take the following three non-credit workshops:

  • Tree Trimming/Basic Arborist
  • Hand and Power Tools
  • Energy Industry Fundamentals

Please select courses from the Priority I list.  Select courses based on the number of credits you are taking in the semester, for example, if you are a part time student you do not have to take all of the courses listed.  If you are unable to schedule Priority I courses, move to and select from the list of Priority II courses.
