This program provides students the skills needed to successfully seek employment as a local area network (LAN) support specialist, network administrator, or computer support specialist. This program will prepare the graduate with the technical knowledge and skills required to design, install, administer, and maintain LANs and WANs. The curriculum will be explored through classroom theory and practical application in a lab environment, including network operating systems and network systems designs and implementation. The courses in this program will cover topics directly related to certification exams from Microsoft, Cisco, and CompTia.

In addition to the above coursework, you may need to take at least one additional GRCC course to complete your degree. The number of elective credit hours that you will need to complete this program will depend on the number of credit hours that remain in order for you to reach the 60 credits needed to graduate. Course Discontinuations
CIS 234 and CIS 235 have been discontinued and will no longer appear in the academic catalog after the 23.24 academic year. If these courses are still needed to complete this degree, you may take one additional GRCC course to complete your degree (Open Course Elective). Contact the CIS Department Head if you have additional questions.
