The Pre-Sport Management program is designed to prepare students to complete an Associates Degree and transfer to complete a 4-year degree in Sport or Recreation Management at Western Michigan University. This program prepares students to pursue leadership/administrative roles in public, non-profit, commercial, and recreational sport organizations or for roles in sport organizations on the interscholastic, intercollegiate, professional and recreational levels.

General Education Courses
Select a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work from the General Education course list. Course work must be selected as directed in the areas below. English Composition and Communications
Humanities
Select one (1) Humanities General Education Elective from a discipline other than PL. Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Natural Sciences
Select two (2) Natural Sciences General Education courses from two (2) different subject areas; one (1) must be a lab. General Education Total Credit Hours
30 (minimum) Program Elective Courses
Select fifteen (15) credits from the following courses.
Students interested in pursuing a Business Minor should select BA 256 , BA 270 , and BA 282 .
Students interested in pursuing a Communications Minor should select two (2) of the following COM courses.
Students interseted in pursuing a Coaching Minor should select BI 121 , BI 122 , and EXS 185 .
University/College Admission Requirements
Students using this agreement must apply and be admitted to Western Michigan University prior to beginning the Sport Management program at Western Michigan University.
Transfer Notes
It is recommended that students meet with an advisor to review the requirements for this articulated program and have any questions about transfer answered prior to completing this degree program at GRCC. Western Michigan University will accept courses taken at GRCC as outlined in the program agreement.
The following courses satisfy Western Michigan University’s 3000 level general education requirement: EN 281 , EN 282 , PL 206 , PL 207 , and PL 209 .

No specific essential abilities or technical standards are required to complete this program. However, an internship and fieldwork are required in Western Michigan University’s four year program and intership hosts are seeking the following skills:
