This course allows students to continue the study of technology and craftsmanship involved in backstage production with specific focus on lighting and sound production of the theater. This course has an experiential learning component that requires work outside of traditional class time.

Identify the various components of theatrical lighting fixtures and explain how each contributes to the function of the instrument.
Demonstrate the ability to properly hang and focus a Source Four lighting instrument.
Demonstrate the ability to program a computerized lighting console and explain the function of the specialized keys.
Use digital recording and editing software and hardware (digital and analog) to create the ideal soundscape for a play.
