AUT 172 - Applied Automotive Maintenance and Service II


Description
This course provides students with hands-on experience and opportunities to practice using automotive service tools and equipment.  Students will perform vehicle inspections, maintenance, and light repair tasks.  Repair-order processing, time management, and shop organization will be practiced.

  1. Perform vehicle inspections using digital inspection software.
  2. Compose accurate and comprehensive text describing vehicle diagnosis and repair for the Cause and Correction sections of an automotive repair order.
  3. Identify and locate vehicle components and systems related to  Air Conditioning and Heating, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Electrical Diagnostics, Engine Repair, Engine Performance, and Suspension and Steering systems. 
  4. Demonstrate competency completing ASE G1 tasks related to Air Conditioning and Heating, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Electrical Diagnostics, Engine Repair, Engine Performance, and Suspension and Steering systems.
