CVT 210 - Cardiovascular Advanced Interventional Procedures


Description
This course discusses and reviews advanced procedural practices within the cardiovascular interventional sciences. Students will learn about current trends and practices in the cardiac cath lab setting along with in depth information on commonly practiced high risk procedures.

  1. Examine advanced diagnostics techniques used in cardiovascular assessment.
  2. Recognize atypical peripheral and coronary anomalies.
  3. Review case studies and examine special procedural tactics that can be applied in advanced therapeutic procedures.
  4. Describe advanced techniques used to treat cardiovascular lesions.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of complex procedures involving the structural aspects of the heart.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of assistive devices and how they are used in complex interventional procedures.
  7. Explain techniques and equipment used to revascularize complete total occlusions of coronary arteries.

I. Multi-vessel Case Studies

II. Impella Assisted PCI Case studies (including single-stick access)

III. CABG and Minimally Invasive CABG procedures

IV. TAVR, TMVR, and Mitral Clips

V. Left Atrial Appendage Closures

VI. Complete Total Occlusions and Case Studies

VII. Robotic assisted LCI and Final Exam
