  1. Identify the ranges for trumpet, trombone, saxophones and voices.
  2. Describe the role of the rhythm section in the jazz ensemble.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to accurately notate for the rhythm section.
  4. Recognize and write examples using various voicings techniques.
  5. Create examples of stylistic one, two, three, and four-part writing.
  6. Create a full-length instrumental or vocal arrangement.
  7. Know and use active listening skills. 
  8. Make connections between academic learning at GRCC and the knowledge and skills necessary for careers of interest.
  9. Describe the ethical and legal restrictions on the use of recorded, published, and/or confidential materials, proprietary information and intellectual property.
