WE 128 - Soccer


Description
This course is designed to introduce students to fundamentals of the game of soccer through the development of basic soccer skills, understanding of general rules and strategy related specifically to game play. There is an emphasis on skill development as a player in this class, as well as overall wellness.

Course Learning Outcomes:

1. Demonstrate proper skill alignment when performing ball handling, passing and game-play exercises while adhering to basic rules of the game.

2. Develop and demonstrate basic skills and techniques in class through participation and demonstration in game-play and skill demonstrations based on course outline.

3. Choose the proper means of achieving a goal based on one’s own skill level.

4. Apply the six dimensions of wellness to one’s life. The Six Dimensions of Wellness are: Emotional, Mental/Intellectual, Spiritual, Physical, Social, and Environmental. 

5. Develop a plan to incorporate lifelong healthy habits into one’s life. 

6. Set personal goals for a healthy diet and safe/effective exercise training.
