Description
This course introduces video concepts and techniques by using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Students explore new ways of creating and presenting video work in the photography world.

1. Demonstrate a practical understanding and use of a DSLR or Mirrorless for shooting video.

2. Compare and recognize the reasons for shooting video with different settings.

3. Optimize the digital workflow by selecting the appropriate tools.

4. Edit videos by using the right balance of technical and creative skills.

5. Demonstrate a basic understanding and use of sound and audio component of shooting video.

6. Use creativity and alternative thinking to brainstorm new ideas and possible solutions to problems or issues. 

7. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. 
Course Outline:
I. Explanation, definition, and historical examination of relationship between still and moving picture

II. The Digital Age. Thinking, creating, producing, and sharing video work

III. DSLR and Mirrorless video components and functionality. Resolution and video formats. Frame rates and frames per seconds

IV. Shooting Techniques with a DSLR and Mirrorless. Tripod vs hand-held. Timer Remote Controller and Intervalometer

V. Advanced Digital image workflow for still and video: ingestion and processing

VI. Post Processing: video editing in Adobe Premiere

VII. Audio Recorders and use of the sound. Recording, processing, mixing, and output

VIII. Exporting video for different uses and media

IX. Slideshow, pictures in motion, and the photo sequence

X. Experimental and music video

XI. Documentary, interview, and assembling found footage
