Course Learning Outcomes:
1. Students will learn and apply appropriate vocal technique in vocal jazz performance practice.

2. Students will learn and apply the differences between vocal jazz performance practice both using microphones and acoustic performance.

3. Students will cultivate skills of vocal improvisation.

4. Students will learn and apply collaborative rehearsal and performance practice elements with instrumental jazz combo.

4. Students will learn a representative body of vocal jazz repertoire and become familiar with leaders within the vocal jazz profession.

5. Students will examine semester repertory through musicological frameworks to engage with historical, sociological, and cultural contexts of the representative repertory.

6. Students will learn and practice standard rehearsal and performance protocols consistent with leading performing arts organizations.

7. Students will learn and practice sandard performance protocols for studio recording consistent with leading performing arts organizations.

8. Know and use active listening skills.

9. Complete work accurately, with attention to detail.

10. Manage time effectively.

11. Work well in teams and with others.
