DR 224 - Die Design Description This course, focused on die design, includes sheet metal stamping processes, types of stamping dies, and the process of designing a stamping die. Topics include web layout and calculations, standard die components, die design fundamentals, development of the plan and section views, bill of materials, and cost estimating. - Complete an assembly and detail die design per industry drawing standards.
- Describe the standard classifications of stamping presses.
- Create proper specifications for tooling materials.
- Understand the importance of setup reduction.
- Clearly and completely state and describe a problem/issue.
- Complete work accurately, with attention to detail.
