Description
This course is designed to provide students with chair side assisting skills in a dental setting. The weekly lecture allows students the opportunity to share dental office practices and to connect laboratory and clinical experience with each other.

1. Student will have completed a minimum of 55 hours of chairside dental assisting skills in an assigned general dental office. (CODA Standard 2-22, 2-23, 2-24)

2. Student will demonstrate professional behavior, that includes self awareness of implicit bias, at all times in assigned dental practice as evidenced by office evaluation forms. (CODA Standard 2-29)

3. Student will be able to assess their performance and problem solve patient related chair-side situations that are encountered during their internship. (CODA Standard 2-20)

4. Student will be able to demonstrate effective communication skills (CODA Standard 2-20)
