AR 201 - Architectural Graphics I


Description
Students use manual drafting and sketching to learn architectural drawing. Students learn to pictorially represent buildings by drawing floor plans, wall sections, building sections, elevations, isometrics, 3D sketches of interiors and exteriors, one-point and two-point perspectives, shades and shadows, and renderings.

1. Pictorially represent buildings by drawing floor plans, wall sections, building sections, elevations, isometrics, 3D sketching, one- and two-point perspectives and shades and shadows.

2. Draw sketches and renderings of buildings and do a final project.

3. Make effective presentation, formatting and stylistic choices when developing a communication. 

4. Use visual representations such as graphs, charts or graphics to enhance the meaning of the message that is being communicated. 
Course Outline:
I. Determine floor plan, wall section, building section, elevation, and isometric views for a building.

II. Visualize the interior and exterior of the building in 3D using 3D sketching, one- and two-point perspectives, and shades and shadows.

III. Draw a 3D rendering of a building.

IV. Do drawings for a final project of a building.
