This hands-on course expands on recording technology training into the realm of  live sound reinforcement.  It will prepare a student for setting up and running live sound equipment for multiple venues and scenarios.

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of Live Sound systems considerations, setups, signal flow, and applications.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the basic operations of the Live Sound Mixing Console as it pertains to Front of House mixing and Monitor Mixing.
  3. Demonstrate Basic Signal flow, network audio and digital signal routing and processing.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of stage terminology and setup pertaining to live sound setup.
  5. Setup and run wireless microphone and wireless In-ear microphones and demonstrate a basic knowledge of frequency coordination.
  6. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of speaker systems and amplifiers.
  7. Demonstrate mixing techniques that align with current industry standards.
  8. Demonstrate Basic system troubleshooting techniques.

Faculty Credential Requirement Details: Instructors teaching Live Sound Reinforcement must be established professional live sound reinforcement technicians, working in the field of recording and live sound. These instructors should have attained a Master's Degree in music, however, candidates with significant professional experience in professional recording and live sound reinforcement  will be considered.
