Corequisites: None Description: This course covers topics in the history of Russia and East Europe from 1750 through the present. This course is intended to be a survey of the social, cultural, intellectual, economic and political currents that shaped the history of East Europe and Russia in the modern period as well as the impact of these currents on West Europe and the world. In this course, students are the historian; they investigate primary sources, historical context and theories in order to better understand the events and transformations that occurred during these formative years of Russian and East European history.
