EL 260 - National Electrical Code (NEC)


Description
This course is a study of the application and interpretation of the National Electrical Code (NEC).  This course covers the current Michigan edition of the NEC and prepares students for the State of Michigan Journeyman’s or Master’s Electrician licensing exam.

  3. Select the proper types of wiring methods and materials needed for all electrical installations.
  4. Interpret and apply the regulations for electrical wiring for Special Occupancies.
  5. Interpret and apply the wiring rules for Special Equipment.
  6. Apply electrical safety principles to the installation of Special Conditions.
  7. Interpret and apply Tables in the NEC to all applications of electrical wiring.
  8. Translate or explain what written information means and/or how it can be used. 
  9. Evaluate information to identify limitations and biases. 
  10. Clearly and completely state and describe a problem/issue.
