1. Employ color and painting techniques with skill and sensitivity.

2. Employ skill and sensitivity in synthesizing painting techniques.

3. Develop solutions to aesthetic and design problems through understanding of basic design principles, color theory, and the oil painting medium.

4. Objectively critique verbally and in writing one’s own artwork as well as those of others.

5. Demonstrate self-discipline to manage work load through the coordination of various steps of the painting process and be able to move back and forth between paintings in various stages of completion.

6. Use creativity and alternative thinking to brainstorm new ideas and possible solutions to problems or issues.

7. Complete work accurately, with attention to detail.
