MN 252 - Geometric Tolerancing


Description
In this course students learn the system of geometric dimensioning and how conventional and geometric tolerancing work together to assure uniformity of fit, function, and producibility of manufactured parts. Students learn to confirm tolerances and solve problems in quality assurance.

1. Evaluate blueprints with geometric tolerancing symbols and dimensioning symbols. (Students will be able to interpret the symbols application with 90% accuracy.)

2. Calculate critical tolerancing parameters using geometric dimensioning practices.

3. Calculate material conditions under various application.

4. Identify and assess Datums, orientation and runout tolerances.

5. Identify and calculate location tolerances and assess deviation tolerances, position tolerances,and virtual conditions.

6. Translate or explain what written information means and/or how it can be used. 

7.  Use high-quality, credible, relevant sources to support writing.
