The Automotive Technology Degree program prepares students for the fast-paced, highly-technical field of automotive diagnosis and repair. Graduates are equipped for entry-level positions and advancement to Master Technician status.
This program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) to meet the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) standards of quality.
Graduates are prepared for the following State of Michigan or ASE certification tests:
- Engine Repair (A1)
- Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2)
- Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3)
- Suspension and Steering (A4)
- Brakes (A5)
- Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6)
- Heating and Air Conditioning (A7)
- Engine Performance (A8)

- It is recommended that AUT 102 be taken before AUT 171 and AUT 172 but it can be taken with either course.

Students intending to transfer to Automotive Management at Ferris State University should elect to take both PH 125 and MTH 112 . In What Order Should I Take Classes?

If you are unable to schedule Priority I courses, move to and select from the list of Priority II, Priority III, and Priority IV courses.
