Cardiovascular Technologists (CVT) are highly skilled professionals trained to work alongside Cardiologists to perform invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures. Students will also develop skills in the preparation and monitoring of the patient during these diagnostic and therapeutic exams.

Throughout the program, students are provided with hands-on experience in cooperation with various hospitals under the direction of the Program Director, program faculty, clinical instructor, and technologists. Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the National Board Certification Examination administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

Clinical learning experiences are provided by affiliating hospitals. Didactic learning experiences occur through an online environment and in-person laboratory practice. Both are equally important to the development of the competent cardiovascular technologist.

Program Admissions Requirements

In order to be eligible for admission into the Cardiovascular Technologists program, students must:

  1. Be a high school graduate or have passed the high school equivalency GED (General Educational Development) Test
  2. Have a high school or college GPA of at least 2.0
  3. Must demonstrate math, reading and writing competency all must be within the last five years.  Dependent on demonstrated competencies, a reduce timeframe may apply (for specific details/scores visit the Cardiovascular Technology Program Requirments).
  4. Complete BI 117  or BI 121 /BI 122  with a C or Higher within two attempts.  This includes WD and DR attempts
  5. Apprenticeship students will be conditionally admitted into the program and take the required pre-program courses in their first two semesters. Continued participation in the program will be dependent upon satisfying the above course requirements. 

Financial Aid
