Pre-Business, A.A. (General Transfer)

Academic Program Code: 101
This academic program lays the foundation for students to transfer to colleges and universities to obtain any bachelor's degree in business, such as Accounting, Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or General Business. This is accomplished by taking the first two years of the program at GRCC and transferring to complete the final two years of a bachelor's degree program.

General Education Courses
Select a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work from the General Education course list. Course work must be selected as directed in the areas below. English Composition and Communications
Humanities
Select two (2) Humanities General Education Electives from two (2) different subject areas. Only one (1) Foreign Language course can be used for the Humanities requirement.
Social Sciences
Select one (1) Social Sciences General Education Elective from a discipline other an EC. Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Natural Sciences
Select two (2) Natural Sciences General Education Electives from two (2) different subject areas; one (1) must be a lab. Mathematics

If transferring to Grand Valley State University, you should select [BA 145 and BA 146 ] , [BA 207 or BA 208 ], BA 270 , BA 283 .
If transferring to Davenport University, you should select CIS 156 , BA 207 , BA 270 , BA 283 .
If transferring to Central Michigan University, you should select BA 103 , BA 145 , BA 207 , and another Business Course or Open Elective Course.
If transferring to Aquinas College, you should select CIS 156 , [BA 207 or BA 208 ], BA 270 , BA 283 .
If transferring to Calvin College, you should select BA 103 , CIS 156 , and other Business Courses or Open Elective Courses.
Open Electives Courses
In addition to the above coursework, you may need to take other GRCC courses to complete your degree. The GRCC Course(s) listed below may be helpful for students pursuing a business major at a 4-year and are recommended open electives. However, courses listed below may not satisfy specific program or major requirements at your 4-year institution. For maximum transferability, all courses should be selected based on your identified program or major at the 4-year transfer institution that you plan to attend

If transferring to Central Michigan University, you should select from BA 201 , PL 209 , [MA 129 or MA 133 ].
If transferring to Aquinas College, you should select from BA 172 , BA 282 , BA 284 based on your Aquinas concentration.
If transferring to Calvin College, you should select other Business Courses or Open Elective Courses.
The number of elective credit hours that you will need to complete this Pre-Major will depend on the number of credit hours that remain in order for you to reach the 60 credits needed to graduate. For assistance in developing an academic plan, please see a GRCC advisor or faculty member.

Be aware that many 4-year institutions limit the number of credits that you can transfer from GRCC, and have final determination regarding the transferability and applicability of GRCC courses. It is recommended that you meet with an advisor to review the requirements for this program and have any questions about transfer answered prior to completing this degree program at GRCC.
In What Order Should I Take Classes?
Please select courses from the Priority I list. Select courses based on the number of credits you are taking in the semester, for example, if you are a part time student you do not have to take all of the courses listed. If you are unable to schedule Priority I courses, move to and select from the list of Priority II, Priority III, and Priority IV courses.
NOTE: This priority schedule assumes the student is prepared to take the courses listed. If prerequisites are required, additional semesters may be required to complete this degree.
