This program is designed for students to complete an A.A.A.S. in Architectural Technology and transfer to the Facilities Management Program at Ferris State University. Students apply technical knowledge and skills to develop working drawings and specifications for architectural and related construction projects. Students learn basic construction and materials, building specification and codes, architectural rendering, computer-aided drafting (CAD), architectural blueprint interpretation and documentation, basic layout for mechanical, electrical and plumbing, and building information modeling (BIM).

General Education Courses
Select a minimum of 15 credit hours of course work from the General Education course list. Course work must be selected as directed in the areas below. English Composition and Communications
Social Sciences
Select one (1) Social Sciences General Education Elective. You should select courses in alignment with Ferris State University “Self and Society” General Education courses. EC 251 and EC 252 are required for this Ferris program.

University/College Admissions Requirements
To be admitted to the Facility Management program at Ferris State University, students must have completed an Associate degree in Architectural Technology from Grand Rapids Community College with a minimum GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale) in major coursework and a minimum GPA of 2.5 in all coursework in the A.A.A.S. curriculum. It is recommended that students submit applications by January 15th prior to fall entry. Official transcripts from all accredited colleges/universities must be submitted with the Ferris State University application. Transfer Notes
It is recommended that potential applicants meet with an adviser to review the program and course schedule and have any questions answered prior to completing an application. Contact the College of Engineering Technology adviser at Ferris State University if there are questions on specific transfer requirements. Once admitted, students must continue to meet with an adviser as they work toward graduation. |
