Welding Technology, A.A.A.S.

Welding is an integral part of various world-wide industries including advanced manufacturing, petroleum, aerospace, automation, and the medical field.  Students at GRCC learn many different welding processes including oxy/fuel, shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc (TIG), robotic automation, gas metal arc (MIG), and pipe welding. These skills qualify students for a wide variety of welding jobs in manufacturing, automation, construction, inspection and maintenance industries. 

All of the credits earned in the Welding Skills Certificate program and the Welding Certificate apply to this program.

General Education Courses


Select a minimum of 15 credit hours of course work from the General Education Course list.  Course work must be selected as directed from the areas below.

English Composition and Communications


Humanities


Select one (1) Humanities General Education Elective.

Social Sciences


Select one (1) Social Sciences General Education Elective.

Natural Sciences and Mathematics


Select one (1) Natural Sciences Lab/Non Lab General Education Elective or one (1) Mathematics General Education Elective.  PH 125 - College Physics I  is suggested.

In addition to the above coursework, you will need to take other GRCC courses to complete your degree.  The number of elective credit hours that you will need to complete this program will depend on the number of credit hours that remain in order for you to reach the 60 credits needed to graduate. For assistance in developing an academic plan, please see a GRCC advisor or faculty member.
