This degree is designed for students who wish to earn an associate degree. This degree is not meant to be used as a transfer degree and does not meet the requirements for the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). This degree allows students the opportunity to take a minimal number of general education classes and explore a vast array of electives to round out the required 60 credits.

General Education Courses
Select a minimum of 15 credit hours of course work from the General Education course list. Course work must be selected as directed in the areas below.
English Composition and Communications
All students must take EN 101.
Humanities
Select one (1) Humanities General Education Elective from the following courses.
Foreign Language
Only one (1) Foreign Lanugage course may be used as a Humanities General Education Elective.
History
For students who are in the 2016-2017 catalog year and after, a History course can now meet either a Humanities or Social Sciences requirement. Please note each History course can only count as either a Humanities or Social Science, not both.
Social Sciences
Select one (1) Social Sciences General Education Elective.

Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Select one (1) Natural Sciences Lab/Non Lab General Education Elective or one (1) Mathematics General Education Elective.

Program Elective Courses
Once you have selected your English Composition and Communications, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences & Mathematics courses, you can take any other GRCC courses to complete your degree. The maximum number of elective credit hours needed to graduate is 45.
