Students matriculating for the Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences must complete a program of related instruction for a specific apprenticeable trade at a community college or other post-secondary accredited institution, as evidenced by a certificate of completion issued by the participating company whose program is registered with the Michigan Department of Education and/or the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, U.S. Department of Labor.

Technology: 34 Credits
Must complete at least 34 credits in Technology-or Engineering-related courses, as prescribed by a faculty advisor in the Manufacturing, Applied Technology, or Mechanical & Architectural Design departments.
Group I – Humanities: 3 Credits
Group II–Social Sciences: 3 Credits
Group III–Natural Sciences and Mathematics: 8 Credits
At least eight credits, which must include a minimum of one laboratory science course. Under the Apprenticeship Option, the following courses are accepted as laboratory sciences: Correction
EN 101/102 added to the program and total elective credits changed to 5 (corrected 1/30/15)
