Students interested in transferring to Cornerstone University to complete a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science should enroll in this program. Students in the exercise science major complete a rich curriculum with courses addressing anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, measurement and evaluation, exercise prescription, injury prevention, nutrition and field internships. The exercise science graduate is prepared to work in clinical or non-clinical medical settings, such as cardiac rehabilitation, corporate and community fitness programs, health clubs, YMCAs, and similar fitness related organizations. Work in these settings usually centers around one-on-one work with clients who may be healthy or have chronic diseases. An undergraduate degree in this program is also good preparation for graduate school in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. This program to designed for students to spend the first two years at GRCC and complete the last two years at Cornerstone University.
