Description
Hands-on introduction to automotive service fundamentals and technician work tasks. Students safely operate automotive tools and equipment, perform vehicle inspections and maintenance procedures, and apply fastener torque specifications. Through lab-based activities, students experience entry-level technician responsibilities while exploring career pathways and industry certifications in automotive technology.

1. Identify and utilize shop safety rules and procedures, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

2. Demonstrate the ability to access automotive repair data, instructions, and specifications.

3. Describe the occupational roles of service technicians and other staff members that are typically found in an automotive repair facility.

4. Identify and demonstrate safe handling, use, and maintenance of tools and equipment used in automotive service.

5. Demonstrate use of the three C’s (concern, cause, and correction), used in repair orders.

6. Complete work accurately, with attention to detail, following recommended procedures and specifications.
