Description
The Cisco CCNA® Cybersecurity Operations (CyberOps) course provides students with content to develop practical, relevant, and job-ready knowledge and skills required of cybersecurity analysts employed in a Security Operations Center (SOC). In this course, students learn how to detect and respond to security threats using the latest technology. This course aligns to the CCNA CyberOps certification which demonstrates that the students have the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in cybersecurity operations, addressing cybersecurity threats that enterprises are faced with on a daily basis.

  1. Install virtual machines to create a safe environment for implementing and analyzing cybersecurity threat events.
  2. Explain the role of the Cybersecurity Operations Analyst in the enterprise.
  3. Explain the Windows Operating System features and characteristics needed to support cybersecurity analyses.
  4. Explain the features and characteristics of the Linux Operating System.
  5. Analyze the operation of network protocols and services.

Course Software Utilized: We make extensive use of virtualization tools for i386 systems. This includes software such as VirtualBox or VMware Workstation.
Students who plan to use their own systems must ensure they have access to an i386-compatible machine. Most modern Apple devices with M1, M2, or M3 chips are not compatible. Alternatively, students can access our virtualization lab remotely.
This course also makes use of Cisco's Packet Tracer simulation tool.
