Description: This course covers fundamental principles of periodontology for the dental hygienist including etiology, histopathology, clinical assessment and an introduction to diagnosis. The course continues with an introduction to treatment planning, implementation and evaluation of periodontal disease treatment. Students learn how to communicate with patients and other healthcare professionals about treatment provided.
